iPhone 15 Pro Max won't connect to Wi-Fi after iOS 18.2 update

Hello everyone,

My iPhone 15 Pro Max, running iOS 18.2 (22A123), suddenly stopped connecting to my home Wi-Fi network after the recent software update. It shows the network is available, but when I try to connect, it says "Unable to join the network." My other devices (iPad and MacBook Pro) are connecting to the same network without any issues.

So far, I've tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Restarted my iPhone.
  • Restarted my Wi-Fi router and modem.
  • Forgot the Wi-Fi network on my iPhone and tried to reconnect.
  • Reset network settings on my iPhone (Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings).

None of these steps have resolved the problem. The phone connects to other public Wi-Fi networks just fine, so it seems to be an issue specifically with my home network and the recent iOS update. Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone have a solution?

The recent iOS update is 18.6, not 18.2, so the first step is to update to it.

Perhaps a long shot:

Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN, then restart your device. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN, but probably shouldn't.
