Login issue with Times UK apps after iPadOS 18.6 issue

All my Times UK apps have been reporting an "Oops, something went wrong" every time I try to login. This started about two months ago and The Times Customer Service has not been able to fix the problem. The problem occurs on an iPad IOS 18.6 Logging into the e-paper via their website seems to work fine. It appears to be something to do with the IOS security updates installed about 2 or more months ago. No other apps are giving me grief. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app after multiple restarts of the device. Hopefully someone can help me resolve this problem!

Yours appears to be an isolated report. If you have any VPN or Security Apps installed (such as Norton or MacAfee), disable and/or remove them completely from your iPad - and then perform a forced restart of your iPad:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

If the problem persists after performing the restart, it may be necessary to reset your iPad settings. While this reset will not cause any loss of data, as a precaution, it is always wise to ensure that you have a current iCloud or iTunes backup before performing the reset:

When you are happy to proceed, you can perform the reset from iPad settings:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset All Settings

If the problem still doesn’t clear, the next step is to reset the iPad to factory settings:

Otherwise, you would be best advised to seek assistance from the App Developer:
