Preview app not restoring last PDF session when reopening app.

Preview fails to restore all tabs from last session when reopened. I have to reopen all PDFS if Preview gets closed. I have "Close windows when quitting ..." turned off in System Settings.

MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.6. Thanks for any help on this!

Why are my PDF edits disappearing in my MacBook Air Preview? It happens sometime, I edit a PDF (add text, shapes, etc.) using Preview, I save the edits. When I come back a day later, all the edits are gone. (even after saving the file, & some old edits were also gone) Sometimes I can go to File - Revert to and find the edits but this doesn't always work and if I edited the PDF more than once, there will be a different file for each edit set, with the edits made then only, but not all the edits over multiple times. This is really annoying!!! Does anyone have the same issue? I am using Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

preview will not open I can not open the Preview app on my MacBook pro with files or directly.

Preview force saves to nowhere When using my mac book and I download a PDF, I am given NO OPTIONS to save the document except the mystery location where my files go! I want to SAVE AS so I can direct the file to where I want it. There is no option except using a four key shortcut which took me a long time to discover. I hate the Preview app but I'm not permitted to delete it. How can I get control over where Preview saves my files??

Skip it. Expected Preview to restore PDF after window is closed (red dot). Preview will restore if I quit app instead. Hope this helps someone. Cheers!
