Apple Carplay issues since ios18.6

Hi all,

Ever since the ios 18.6 update I’ve been having issues with my apple carplay. Specifically with siri responding to commands. When I ask siri to message someone, it adds that persons contact name to the beginning of the message. For example, I will press the voice recognition button and ask “message Jane Doe”, siri says the normal “what would you like to say”, then when it is reading back the message to me it says “Jane Doe 💕 what’s your eta?”.

Also, when I press the voice recognition button and ask siri to play a song, I get “sorry there seems to be a problem” or some other variation of that.

I have restarted my phone and reset my car’s (Mitsubishi ASX 2019) display screen system but nothing is working. I’ve only had this issue since the update. Anyone have any ideas?
