How do I drag and drop photos to album on my MacBook Pro Photos app?

Greets:

Today, I created a new album in the Photos app on my Mac, running McOS 15.5.

I then went to the People collection, then opened up a collection of photos of me. I picked select photos, and dragged them to the newly-created album. When I went to check the album, instead of copies of my photos, each photo became an album instead.

Does drag and drop not work in this way? What would be the proper way to copy a photo from a collection to an album, and know that it'll be a photo instead of an album in the end/

Thanks!

Sounds like you created a Folder first, not an Album.

An Album contains only photos and videos. Photos could not have created an Album within an Album.

A Folder contains only Albums and/or other Folders. Photos would have to create an Album in order to fit a photo within a Folder.
