Hi
I take pictures with my camera in combined RAW/JPEG format. On my Mac, I can choose which foto format I want to work with by right-clicking in the picture and switching from RAW to JPEG and vice-versa.
On my iPad, I can see in the top-left corner of the picture the foto format RAW/JPEG oder JPEG/RAW. But I found no way to select the appropriate foto format I want to work with.

Do the editing on your Mac.
There does not seem to be any possibility to switch between the two originals of the RAW&JPEG pair on the iPad.
My Macs and my iPad are syncing the library with iCloud Photos, so I tried, if the iPad will use the RAW original, when I switch the pair on my Mac from JPEG+RAW to RAW+JPEG.
A few Moments later the iPad has also shown RAW+JPEG. but when I applied some edits, the iPad still used the JPEG version for editing, not the RAW file.
The RAW support installed on our iPads is meant to be used with external photo editors supporting the RAW formats. Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and visionOS 2 - Apple Support
The iPad user Guide does not mention the Raw format at all.

It's a pity and a shame at the same time for Apple neglecting this important feature.
You're welcome. I hope it will become better in the long run, now that iPadOS and MacOS are sharing a lot of code and the iPhone is supporting an own RAW format.
