do silicone covers for airpod maxes make anc or transparency mode worse?

When you buy covers for AirPod maxes, does that affect sound quality in any way? I.e do they filter out less noise/ am I able to hear less in transparency .

Did iOS 18.1 ruin my AirPod pros? I prefer wearing only one AirPod during work. New update has removed the noise cancellation feature when wearing one pod. Why is Transparency mode recommended over Adaptive mode for concerts on AirPods Pro 2 and 3? The Apple hearing protection page for AirPods Pro 2 and 3 states this: * Choose Transparency mode when you want to maintain situational awareness, like at a concert or a sporting event. * Choose Adaptive mode when sound levels vary or are unpredictable, like with city traffic or while commuting. Concerts can be in excess of 110dB. When looking up the attenuation numbers at the 110dB level on the AirPods Pro 2 and Pro 3, Adaptive mode provides more protection than Transparency mode; 10-12dB more on the Pro 2 and 1-2dB more on the Pro 3. If Adaptive mode provides more hearing protection, why is Apple recommending Transparency mode for concerts that can easily exceed 110dB? Is there sound processing that makes Transparency better for music? What is the exact difference in the two modes besides attenuation?
