“DATA OVER, 0MB left” warning stuck on iPhone home screen

I am seeing a persistent warning on the top of my iPhone home screen that says:

“DATA OVER, 0MB left! Recharge now.”

I am using an iPhone 16 Pro Max (iOS version: 18.6.1).

  • I have confirmed with my carrier that my data balance is valid, and I am able to use mobile data normally despite the message.
  • This seems to be a bug where iOS incorrectly interprets my data plan status and displays a false “data over” warning.
  • I also don’t want any such warning on my home screen even if I run out of data — it is intrusive and cannot be dismissed.

The message “DATA OVER, 0MB left! – Recharge now” is not coming from iOS itself but from your mobile carrier. Carriers often send these alerts as push notifications through their official app or directly via their network services. The purpose is to notify you that your current data balance has been exhausted and to prompt you to recharge or purchase a new data pack for continued internet access on your SIM or eSIM plan.
