iPhone 13 touchscreen unresponsive while texting and inserts random characters

I will reply to a text or start a text, then the screen stops responding to input. No matter how many times I tap a letter it will not respond. Sometimes it will insert spaces or different letters or emoji’s without my input. Will also scroll up on its own randomly..
