Optimized Charging and Significant Place

I just bought an Iphone 16Pro, I turned on charging optimization and found out that it needs at least 9 cycles and 14 days to learn and activate while charging. However, I know that Significant Place needs to be turned on for the Charging Optimization function to work best. However, for some reason, Significant Place only shows up where I work, not at my home. I usually go to work at 8:30 a.m. and stay at the company until 7:00 or 7:30 p.m. I usually charge overnight at 11:30-12:30 pm until 7:30 am. Because Significant Place doesn't recognize my home as an important place, optimized charging always doesn't work. So, is there any way to make Significant Place display more intelligently, or at least have it display My Home so I can use Optimized Charging at home ?

Don’t worry about it, just charge it to 100% overnight every night.

I'm also not sure if this is true, because there isn't too much information about this. However, on the Apple homepage it is mentioned that if in case Battery Charging Optimization does not work, then turn on the System Custom Location and Significant Place functions so that Battery Charging Optimization is activated. And I also see a lot of people saying that they don't turn on the above two features, but Optimized Battery Charging still works. I came to this conclusion, because when I cleared the location history in Significant Place, then it showed my home, and that night I charged it overnight, then Optimized Battery Charging was activated, but after a day at work, when I came home to charge overnight, Optimized Battery Charging was not activated, and Significant Place showed my workplace.

If you charge it at home every night with Optimized Charging enabled it will eventually recognize it as a significant place, probably take a week or two.

But meanwhile, charging to 100% really won’t hurt it.

Despite what the “gurus” say, there is little point in coddling your battery; the best you can hope for by micromanaging the battery and charging may make a difference of a month or two in its average 3-5 year life.

Not sure that is correct. Where are you finding “significant places” listed.

Optimised charging relies on your charging times and really only settles if you sleep regular hours with overnight charging.

it’s also insignificant on battery longevity like most of the features designed for the purpose, you will get fullest life by keeping it cool, out of hot sunshine, and don’t drain the battery to zero.

Thank you for your feedback. In conclusion, ignore them, just charge them overnight and let the phone work by itself.
