I've never had that happen. Keep in mind voicemail is a carrier feature and they are actually stored on your carriers servers, not your phone. You simply have a link to hear them on your phone. If you've lost a voicemail, contact your carrier and see if it can be restored. There is a recently deleted folder within the Phone app on the voicemail tab. Have you checked there? If yes and it's just gone, then contact your carrier.
