How do I remove my husband's Apple ID/data from the iPad?

my husband recently got his 1st Apple acct ever and I gave him my iPhone to use. He has also been using my old iPad (not cellular). I would like to get his account information off of it now (the iPad) and use it myself. (He has been using it for email and messages.) How do I do that?
