Can I keep AirPods Pro in Lost Mode to prevent theft and reset?

I'm wondering if it's possible to keep my AirPods Pro 2 in Lost Mode permanently, so that if someone ever steals them, they won't be able to reset or remove my Apple ID. This way, I can still track their location and keep them locked to my account.

No, you cannot prevent someone from resetting and using your AirPods Pro by putting them into Lost Mode. While Lost Mode for AirPods shows their location and your contact information if found, it does not prevent a factory reset, which allows them to be paired to a new Apple ID. This is because AirPods lack the Activation Lock feature that prevents theft of devices like iPhones.
