How can I permanently remove lost AirPods Pro from Apple Account?

I lost a pair of AirPods Pro that are still appearing in my Find My devices list. I’ve attempted to remove them multiple times using both the Find My app and iCloud.com, but they keep reappearing shortly after. They are not connected to any of my devices via Bluetooth anymore, and I’ve already removed them from all paired device lists.

I understand that the device needs to be offline to remove it, and it is, but the option either doesn’t appear or the removal doesn’t stick. I’m trying to permanently remove this lost pair from my Apple ID and iCloud account so they no longer appear in my Find My app.

Can you confirm if there’s a way to permanently remove lost and offline AirPods Pro from my Apple ID, even if they never come online again? And if not, can this be escalated or manually removed from your end?

  • If the device is offline, Activation Lock is removed immediately, and the device is removed from Find My after 30 days.

Note: If your device comes online after 30 days have passed, it reappears in your list of devices, and Activation Lock is reenabled if you’re still signed in to your Apple Account on the device (for an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch) or if it’s paired with your iPhone or iPad (for AirPods or a Beats product).

Also review your device list at Settings > [name on top], and scroll to the bottom to view the devices signed into your account. If there is another device there that the AirPods could reconnect to, then it will reappear in FindMy. That gives you the opportunity to unpair the AirPods from a device you may have forgotten about or one that is sharing your Apple Account.
