I got a new phone, did the transfer but the new phone has been indexing for a few days. I need to return the old phone. Is all the information on the new phone during indexing so it would be safe to return the old phone?

Yeah, If you have gotten the message welcome at iPhone and you have all of your files and apps at your disposal you can wipe the old phone. Make sure that you have a backup on your computer or in iCloud just in case
