Why am I getting a bright white vertical band on my Apple Watch 7 screen?

This is most likely a hardware issue I am afraid
try and force restart the watch first
To force restart, hold down the side button and the Digital Crown at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Never do this when updating watchOS
If the issue persists after the forced restart, your watch might need service. Please Contact - Official Apple Support
to set up hardware service for your watch
