Adding contacts to SIM card on iPhone
How can you add contacts to your SIM card on iphone, I only see an option to add the contacts already on the sim to your phone

No. iPhone's do not store anything in the SIM card.
Contacts on iPhone are stored in iCloud or in an email account. The SIM card just contains your phone service info and settings.
