I have AirPods Pro 2nd Gen with the USB-C MagSafe case (A2968). The case speaker works — it chirps in Find My and makes the charging sound — but it doesn’t make the lid-open/close tones even though “Enable Charging Case Sounds” is on. I’ve re-paired, checked Silent Mode, and I’m on the latest firmware (74.10.0).

I've had AirPods Pro 1st and 2nd generation and have never heard a sound when I open or close the case lid.
The option for Case sounds is for when it starts charging or with Find My.

The case (Pro2 - USB-C) doesn't make any sound for me except when it tells me the battery is low, but I never heard any sound when opening and closing the case.
You have the same issue too? My wife has the same 2nd AirPod Pro as me and her case makes sounds when opening and closing the case and when you put the pods in. There is a toggle switch in the settings for these sounds but it appears not all cases work.
