iPhone 16 won’t charge with USB-C cables unless forced in

I’ve had my IPhone 16 for a few months now. About a month ago, I noticed that any USB-C cable I use for charging (including the one that came with the IPhone) do not connect and will not charge the phone. I literally have to almost jam it in for it to get a slight charge. The phone charges just fine with a MagSafe, but with any type of physical cable? Nothing doing. I’ve cleaned the port using methods suggested by Apple and other technicians, and still nothing. It won’t charge and the cable won’t even stay in. Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, am I going to have to take it in for a repair?

Okay, stop trying to jam anything into the charging port. If you have to do that, something is wrong and forcing it will only make it worse.

Under a strong light, with a magnifier if you have one, use something non-conductive like a toothpick (the plastic flosser ones are good), very carefully try to remove any lint or pocket fluff that has gotten forced into the very back of the port. It's likely that it is well and truly smashed into the very back at this point. If you can't find anything or if you feel uncomfortable doing this, make an appointment with the local Apple Store.
