Lost cellular data after iOS 18.6.2 update

Soon after installing the iOS 18.6.2 update my iphone and husband's iphone lost cellular data. We are unable to make or receive calls. We have tried all of the tricks, restart, reset network settings, etc.

Hello -

Our cellular provider is TMobile. We have 3 phones on our account. We recently had this exact same issue on all three phones. I troubleshooted all remedies found from google searches. (That is actually how I found your question here.) I finally called TMobile and somehow "gremlins" adjusted our account to be WITHOUT internet provided. Holy smokes. That's crazy....right? Anyhow the fix to our issue was for TMobile to "fix" the account and then they had to provide new eSIMs for all three phones. What a hassle. 3 hours later all cellular data was restored.

Two separate phones with the same carrier(?)

Did you call your carrier/cell provider and see whats up? They can re-provision your device(s) from their end.

No matter how annoyed you are, the only place that can fix cellular connectivity problems is your carrier. What did they say when you called them?

The one possible exception is if you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it. If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN, then restart your device. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN, but probably shouldn't.

my Carrier tried multiple things including giving me an eSIM which did not work. After three hours on the phone with them and multiple network resets, I was able to make and receive calls although I had to turn on and off airplane mode to get a signal a few times. I was told to go to a store and get a new SIM card. The next morning I found an update waiting and guess what? Now it’s all good again. I picked up the new SIM just in case but it was clearly the update that caused the problem.
