Unable to cast videos from Safari and Chrome to Chromecast

Safari and Chrome browser doesn't show in the "Local network"-list. How can i force this to happend? Because of this, i’m not able to transfer videos from any of the the browsers to Chromecast.

Apple devices in general do not support casting as it's a proprietary Google protocol, so it will not usually work in Safari.


Some apps like Chrome and YouTube do support casting because they belong to Google.

To enable Casting, make sure both of them are turned on in Settings ➜ Privacy & Security ➜ Local Network
