Location Service: Significant Locations - does not display history and accurate recently reported locations

IoS 18.6.2. Significant Locations shows one location of the device (iphone in this case), but not the last location. The specific data, in this case, shows where I left from at 09:07, but not the locations along the trip route for the day, or where I stopped for lunch; nor does it show where I arrived to later in the afternoon.

Why I would like this information? I have a parking ticket that is invalid for a couple of reasons, but the primary reason is that during the time of the alleged infraction, the car was not parked at all. I had left the site to begin the next leg of my trip.

Sure seems that I should be able to see my own data for a use that is legitimately to my advantage? Thoughts?

I find it specious that Apple should have access to my ~xxx number of location records, but I do not under the guise of security reasons. I guess I am not to be trusted.

Your phone will use it for Map suggestions. It is not a personal tracking device used to list every place/time you have visited. That is a good thing. While you may not be in a situation where you have a protective/abusive partner who wants to know where you have been, they are out there and thankfully Apple is not involved in perpetuating this behavior. Not everyone has the privilege of locking their device to protect the data from their partner. If you are looking for a personal tracking device, you will have to look elsewhere with some software that will do that for you. Google loves to track you, so that choice would be a good one if that is what you are looking for.

I use Google Maps, Google account, Timeline turned on, Location permission "Always".

I used that to query a parking ticket.

Apple don't provide it as Lobsterghost1 says.

It’s not shown because it was found to be subject to abuse.

Which probably mean you are privileged to have fewer risks here.

Or maybe you’re trying to socially engineer access into this data on somebody’s device, we just don’t know.
