Data Transfer Cancelled during password reset on iPhone

Have tried to transfer an old phone to a new one but firstly it keeps saying password is wrong so I reset it then it goes so far then says Data Transfer Cancelled. This has happened about 5 times. I cannot get past this.

Any advice welcome, hoping once I can unlock the new phone again can see where transfer is, by the way the new phone is quite hot, temperature wise!

At step 3 here, do not use Quick Start. Instead, restore from a backup.
