imessages on iMac logs out

For the past few days imessages on my iMac just quits and logs out.

I open it again, enter email/phone number and the password, it opens, showing me all

my past messages like it's back to working just fine, then 5-10 seconds later, quits again.

I am running Sequoia v 15.6.1

Anyone else experiencing this ?

Yes, I had this problem this week. (I'm also running Sequoia on an iMac.)

I found I had to reactivate iMessage in my iPhone first:

If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime on your iPhone - Apple Support

In particular, make sure you complete step 1 of the subsection "Try to activate your iMessage or FaceTime account online" on that page.

Then I had to make sure messages were available on my iMac by selecting Text Message Forwarding:

Set up Messages on iPhone – Apple Support (UK)

I think this was all set up correctly until recently but I just had to go through the process again.
