Airpods Pro 2 (Lighting) to USB-C Case Availability

I own a pair of AirPods 2 Pro (Lighting), and I am pretty happy with them. With the recent announcement of the 17 series iPhones, I was considering buying one to replace my iPhone 12. With my current AirPods and iPhone being Lightning, I would like to have my AirPods case use USB-C if I were to get a USB-C iPhone. I was aware of a replacement case you could buy on the Apple Store page. When I went to check it out, I reached a 404 Page Not Found. I'm aware that Apple was selling them as of three weeks ago, according to the Internet Archive. I'm wondering if I can still buy one; if not, could I go order a USB-C Case part to replace it? I was told by Apple Support that it was "yet to be available" and to check an authorized reseller, and the only thing I can find is non-Apple genuine cases

The AirPods Pro USB-C case does not appear to be available anymore. Probably because a new one may be coming with the release of the AirPods Pro 3.

With that said, there's no real reason to change your case. The Fact is lightning has no bearing on the iPhone's port.

If you want to connect it to the iPhone port for charging for instance, you can just use a lighting to USB-C cable.

Otherwise, the connector on the case is really pretty irrelevant.

You may be able to get a replacement case as if you lost it through the AirPod service page for $99.
