Can I trade in an iPhone 15 Pro Max with a broken charging port without extra charges?

I’m looking to trade in my 15 pro max to upgrade for a newer phone and there are questions that ask about the condition of the phone those being;

.all buttons work

.cameras and lenses work

.body is free of dents and scratches

.touchscreen and back glass are undamaged

.display is free of distortion, lines and black or white spots

None of those ask about the charging port being broken so in the eyes of apple and their questions the phone works perfectly fine but it doesn’t and I don’t want to get charged after the fact so what do I do?

Take your phone to your closest Apple Store and let them test if for you now, so there are no surprises after you make a purchase. Apple will tell you whether a trade is possible on a phone which is damaged (if the charging port is damaged, the phone is damaged). Likely they won't take the phone on trade if its damaged. But you need to discuss that with Apple directly.
