Is there a way to set the iPhone alarm for a specific date?

All I can find is "repeat every Tuesday" or something like that. I'd like to be able to say, "set an alarm for September 16 at 8am" or "set an alarm for next Friday at 2pm."

If this is not possible, why not? Every alarm app in the world allows you to do this.

Thank you.

What you want then are reminders or even calendar events with an alert, not alarms.

Alarms are meant to be basic and re-occurring.

Reminders and calendar events can be set to a specific date and can have a sound alert assigned to them.
