All I can find is "repeat every Tuesday" or something like that. I'd like to be able to say, "set an alarm for September 16 at 8am" or "set an alarm for next Friday at 2pm."
If this is not possible, why not? Every alarm app in the world allows you to do this.

Set an event in the Calendar app to begin at 8:00 AM and end at 8:05 AM. Or whatever time span you want. Not much of an alarm, but it will make a sound.
Otherwise, there are lots of alarm apps in the App Store you can try.
why don’t you just use the reminders app? It allows you to set dates and times. A lot of people set alarms rather than just using the reminders app…
There's an app called "Calarm" by squishLogic. It allows you to alarms for events in Calendar. As I recall, they're pretty loud.
I haven't used it in a while, and it's old. There may be other apps that do the same thing.
As for why it's not possible, that's because Apple designed it that way.
