Camera control button not working (iOS 18)

About a week after getting the phone, my camera control button had stopped working. The light presses for the camera app controls work fine, but the normal clicks for opening the app, and taking pictures don’t.

I have tried configuring the settings, force restarting, waiting for a software update, and even soft resetting my phone, but none of those fixed my issue.
