Cracked Back Glass on iPhone 16 Pro Max - Trade-in Value?

Hello everyone,

My iPhone 16 Pro Max fell out of my pocket, hit a wooden floor, and the back glass cracked. The top right corner is chipped, and the rest of the glass is cracked but in one piece.

I'm considering upgrading to the iPhone 17 Pro Max and was hoping to trade this one in. The online trade-in tool only offers free recycling for cracked back glass, but I'm wondering if the in-store trade-in value might be different.

A non-cracked phone is valued at around $720, and I'm concerned the trade-in value for mine will be so low it's not worth it. Has anyone had a similar experience and gotten a decent trade-in value at an Apple Store? I'm trying to decide if it's better to trade it in or just keep it for another use.
