No section for Documents or Links in the Messages app on iOS 26

When opening a contact card through the Messages app, the three options for Info, Background and Photos is visible but nothing for Documents or Links. I’m currently running iOS 26 on iPhone 15. Any help would be appreciated!

Re: "No section for Documents or Links in the Messages app on iOS 26"

Seems you only see the options for Links and Documents after you click on the contact or group icon at the top of a conversation ?

And ... 5 "If a category doesn’t appear, you didn’t receive anything of that type in this conversation."

Apple support's article for iOS 26: Share content in Messages on iPhone - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"Find all the content someone shared with you

  1. Go to the Messages app  on your iPhone.
  2. Open the conversation whose content you want to see.
  3. Tap the contact or group icon at the top of the conversation.
  4. Swipe left, then tap Photos, Links, Documents, Locations, or Wallet.
  5. If a category doesn’t appear, you didn’t receive anything of that type in this conversation.

Note: Content only appears in Shared with You if the person who sent it is in your contacts.

You can find a Shared with You section in PhotosSafariMusicPodcasts, and other supported apps. If you don’t want items someone sends to you to appear in those other apps, tap the contact or group icon at the top of the conversation, tap Info, then turn off Shared with You."

You might want to send feedback to Apple. All feedback is carefully read and logged, and if others have a similar issue we may see an update that addresses it.

The more feedback Apple receives on which device models and OS versions are affected, the more likely we will see an update.

Okay, looks like I may have found a somewhat solution. If you backup on iCloud, you can go to the info section of your contact card and tap on Downloaf attachments in iCloud. That and with a little bit of internal / backend indexing work should do the trick. Might take some time depending on the number of attachments but you should see the links and document section pop up
