Mail and Phone app not working with iOS 26 on my iPhone 16 Pro Max

I upgraded to iOS26 and can no longer use rcs to text with messenger. I have to force it to use sms with non apple phones. I have restarted it. Turned rcs on and off. I have verizon and rcs has been supported on the phone, but I can no longer use rcs messaging. I have iPhone 26pro max. Have had no problem until now. Everything else seems ok. Anyone with this problem or suggestions???
