is locked on always allow
--> "this setting is managed by your organization and cannot be changed"

iPhone 16e, iOS 26
After a chat with Apple support, the only solution was a Reset All ( Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings)
They said Apple is aware of the issue and are working on a fix to be implemented in an iOS update.
Only changed when in lockdown-when lockdown off- same as before

If I turn on lockdown mode, I am able to change the setting to "ask first time," but as soon as I disable lockdown mode, it goes right back to "always allow," and grayed out again.
Yep, me too. This is a very dangerous bug and opens the iPhone to chargeport hacking.
This didn’t work for me. Setting still shows it’s being managed by an organization which is NOT true.
If that actually worked, you're one of only two people at this point that has said it did. The rest of us don't get that result; once Lockdown is turned off, it reverts.

I was also running iOS 26.0.1
I was hoping 26.1 would fix this, but still having the same issue. Seems like a big security bug to not patch.
26.1 and still no fix? Apple come on fix this bug already…. It’s getting embarrassing! Smh

Just updated to 26.2 but still no change as you will see from this screenshot! Come on Apple. Are you not hearing us?
Why do you have only two options? I have four under 26.1. Fixed on "Always allow", but with more options: "Allow know accesories" and "Always ask"

It doesn't work on my iPhone 16. I tried it and once turn off Lockdown it reverts back to Always allow & grays out with "Managed by Organization"
I tried this. When I turned it back off, it went right back to always slow and I can’t change it once again.
