iPhone 11 malfunctioning after iOS 18 update

A month ago or so, my iPhone 11 began crushing and starting to malfunction. Sometimes it is very slow, the bottom part of the screen doesn't let me use apps or type properly, it restarts itself on its own and apps and the general software are crashing and acting wierd. I thought a possible reason for all of this is the fact that I haven't downloaded the last few updates, since I have little space on my phone. I upgraded to iCloud+ to backup my photos and delete the majority of them from my gallery as a way to release some space on the phone and get the update. But I've been reading that some users have had more problems since they upated to iOS 18 with an iPhone 11... and now I don't know what to do. Can anybody help me out? Thanks in advanced,

  • Mirko

You have either of these conditions going on that will require service by Apple.

  • Your battery health has dropped below 80% and needs replacing. Check at Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging > Maximum Capacity.
  • The digitizer on your screen is failing and the screen will need replacing. Happens most frequently when there is a crack on your screen, but of course can happen anytime.

Hello! Thanks for replying. First of all, I am not really sure if it was you, but the title to my post now modified by the "moderator" is inaccurate, since I haven't been able to update to iOS 18 due to lack of storage. (My phone is currently on iOS 17.5.1). With that being said, well, both options you mentioned could be the cause: my phone is pretty close to hitting 80% (it's on 81%) and the screen itself may be damaged. It is not always happening, but I have dropped my phone more times than I would like to mention. It had always worked perfectly before this problem began. So, there is no chance it might be malfunctioning due to the storage issues and need for update? Thanks, again.
