Since updating to WatchOS 26 I no longer receive any alerts (i.e. pace, heart rate zone and splits) - only beeps, no voice alerts. I do not use headphones/iphone while running. On previous watchOS this worked fine. Alerts are received in other exercises in the Workout app (e.g. Walking and Yoga). Series 6 watch. Yes it is old but it worked fine before the update.

I want to confirm and add a little to this. I’ve tried most of the other proposed solution here with zero success. In short: If I run with just the watch, I get no Voice Feedback from the Workout app. If I take my iPhone with me on the run, I get Voice Feedback. I have a S6 Cellular watch and have never activated cellular service. So the bug exists on Cellular devices too.
I’m using an Series 6 Stainless Cellular watch, AirPods Pro 2 and an iPhone 15 Pro Max. All have current software levels.
Today, based on alexskunz‘s post I took the phone, but shut off Cellular Data. I had not tried this before. The watch and phone were connected with Bluetooth. This time, Voice Feedback worked like a charm.
I’ll write this up in a feedback post. Hopefully Apple will fix this.
Congratulations on finally restoring a feature that was available from the start. And it took you months to complete this process. I think the definition of a competent team certainly isn't this kind of team that removes a feature and then takes months to make it available again.
I'm not using any Bluetooth devices--my splits come from the watch's speaker. Ultra running watchOS26.4 without cellular connection without connection to my iPhone, in running workout, Siri calls out splits.
Has anyone updated to 26.5 and can you confirm that the audio readout of metrics are still present?
I know the fix is listen in the update notes but I don't want to risk it. I do find it strange that it was fixed in 26.4 but wasn't acknowledged until 26.5.
I still have an issue with the voice reading on 26.5. iPhone 17 Pro and Apple Watch Ultra 3 (active cellular) are both on the latest (non-beta) versions. The voice for workouts stops working sometimes around 26.3 or 26.4. I tried everything, including reconnecting watches from backup and also a total clean installation. I read carefully all the posts here, also screenshots with setups, but without success. It's really frustrating me due to intensive running training, and I hate checking my wrist during the run when I need information. Half the kingdom for advice on how to get the voice feedback working again in the exercise 🙏
Thanks for that. Unfortunately didn’t help. I get voice alerts in the other exercises just not the running workout
I messed the workout up and didn't notice there was an open Warmup with nothing in it. I will test tomorrow during lunch

I applied the latest available update for both Apple Watch and iPhone and tried several workouts.
Everything remains the same. None of the workouts had the sound alerts.

I was asked to do the same thing. So I asked hot do I take a video of silence? The alerts are still visible not audible. She said no need for screenshot

I tried to have my watch downgraded a few weeks ago and was told they could not do that. How did you accomplish this?
Apple is not going to fix this issue?
I will not upgrade any new os after this.
