How does one get rid of those ENORMOUS squares of Recently Saved at the top Bookmarks menu? Do we have to live with that now? This whole new MacOS 26 Tahoe feels like a triumph of form over function. What's with the rounded edges on everything?

It appears to me there are only tiles for things that are saved to my Reading List. I deleted them by clicking the left arrow that is to the left of the Bookmarks heading, went to my Reading List, and deleted everything. No more tiles show. When I add a bookmark no new tiles appear, at least if I file it away in a folder.
Control right click deleted Thumbnail (Big Squire) Also deleted from my Favorite Bookmark. Did not work. Sorry.
He is referring to Safari sidebar bookmarks. Apple messed that up in my opinion.

I was excited when I saw Apple Put Out an update 26.0.1. Thought Apple Engineers fixed my BIG Squire Thumbnail in Bookmark side bar. Sorry, did not happen.
My guess is Apple doesn't think it's something that needs "fixed".
I don't even think Apple Staff or Software developers looks at this site?

Correct. That's what the feedback pages are for.
I have decided not to post, looks like posting makes NO difference to Apple. Like someone recommended in this tread to use different Browser. This may the choice.
Every time I add a bookmark it appears as a large square independent of any reading list although it is not in any folder but a standalone bookmark.
These large Tiles are visually annoying - they take too much screen space. deleting them also deletes saved favourites? I wish these large tiles could be disabler/hidden!
These tiles (squires) are not only annoying, they are UGLY.

I am rarely seeing the big Recently Saved item in my sidebar.
When I add a new bookmark, I am saving it directly to a folder where I can find it again, somewhere in my favorites bookmarks folder. And when I quit Safari, a subfolder of Favorites is selected in the sidebar. My sidebar is always coming up with the search field and the Favorites folder on top and the silly large recently saved items hidden below the upper border, perhaps because I have arranged the sidebar with the option "folders on top".
