Missing Launchpad in macOS Tahoe

Since macos Tahoe the launchpad is gone which makes OS very unpleasant and unproductive!

Is there a way to go back to macos Sequoia or do I need to find a substitute for my macbook since this makes laptop as good as useless.

No, it doesn't serve the same function. Launchpad allowed me to group programs, move untility programs to the back etc. Apps at the very least needs to let you force programs into the categories, Apps gets it wrong. The window isn't sizeable so you can see all the categories, you can't tell it to wrap the categories so you can see them all. They can fix this, but it needs to be fixed if it's actually going to serve the same function as Launchpad.

ITS NOT THE SAME! It used to be: pinch trackpad + choose app.

Now it’s cmd + space, then cmd + 1, then search for what you need, then click. This is absurd.

Formerly Launchpad could be launched from the Dock - step #1

Then,  clink on the application of choice - step # 2

Currently ⌘ + spacebar - step # 1

Currently ⌘ + 1 brings up Applications  - step # 2

Currently, click on the application of choice - step # 3

Or

Formerly Launchpad could be launched Applications folder- step #1

Then,  clink on the application of choice - step # 2

Currently ⌘ + spacebar - step # 1

Currently ⌘ + 1 brings up Applications  - step # 2

Currently, Enter or click on the application of choice - step # 3

This represents exactly 1 extra step

Steve Jobs would not have allowed this.

You speak for the dead? I don't think so. And you don't know what he would have approved of or not. It's also in poor taste to channel the departed.

That said, I miss the launchpad myself. I also told Apple I'd love to see it come back and used the proper channel to convey my feedback, which isn't complaining here on a user to user only forum, which no one posting here had anything to do with this change. You too, can use this link --> Feedback - macOS - Apple

I fully agree, the new app feature on macOS Tahoe is absolutely terrible. I am missing Launchpad. I really don´t get it why macOS is updated so often and often just with worse result.

Agreeing with only other users here won't get Apple's attention. So use the feedback link to tell Apple what you think --> Feedback - macOS - Apple

BRING LAUNCHPAD BACK!!!

I should never have to download an external APP to replace what Mac OS did just last version. So ridiculous!!!

What do you expect any of us on this user to user only forum do to bring launchpad back? You're just shouting at other users, some of whom, I'm sure agree with you, but that doesn't change the fact that this is a user to user only forum, which no one from Apple participates, nor reads for user feedback.

If you want to shout at Apple, use this link --> Feedback - macOS - Apple

I would suggest looking at this alternative at the App Srore—

Yeah... I'm not bother by the fact Launchpad as been just deleted, I hate the way this new "App" section is not organizable.

It's just "Random" organized, especially for the third parts apps, and you can't do anything about it...

I've seen somebody find a way to resume the Launchpad from the Terminal but I didn't tried...

I hope they do something about it...

Feeling you hahahah

The big problem with Apps is that you can't search for an app without first selecting a category. If I want to open an app that I don't use frequently enough to put in the Dock, I have to either remember which category it is in or search around for it. That's ridiculous! With Launchpad, I could open it and type a few letters and the app would be there.

There is no reason for this limitation. Where can I send a request to Apple to fix this?

I'd add another problem with it: you can't search for an app without first selecting a category. With LaunchPad, I could open it, type a few letters, and the app would be there. All I had to remember was part of the name. Try typing in Apps without selecting a category. Everything disappears! That's ridiculous!! I've sent feedback to Apple about it.
