After I update to iOS 26 I noticed many photos in the chat are missing in iMessages. Is there anything I should do and anybody facing the same?

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 26
That is due to me having sent docs / photos / links since I got the phone. However those are the only ones that showed up. In order to get the full history back I restored the new phone from the icloud backup.
After that - still no photos tab with all photos dating back to 2015. I then went to settings > tapped my name at the very top > icloud > messages > sync now. This can take a while depending on how many messages you have saved in icloud and how long you have it set to save them for and the sync process for me took a few days to complete and required me to check multiple times a day because it will pause randomly for some reason. Once the sync was completed. I started to see the option to download the historical attachments under the info tab in each conversation.
Scrolling back through the chat, my photos are still there. However, I found that the ability to go into ‘info’ and see all of the historical photos within that thread is no longer available.
Same here..no photos. Another friend has the photos showing in info. It’s random at this point I guess.
Yes, I can see few in that section also I can say many are missing too.

Yes as you said photos tab is there and only partial set of pictures are showing up.
I’m also having the same issue the entire photo section is gone underneath the info inside of each message
same, regret this update - old system was so much easier. This was one of the best tools ;\
What’s going on with this I just got the iPhone 16e I had the iPhone 13 and now with this new phone and update ios26 I can’t see the photos tab in messages? Any body found a fix
I am having the same issue. I’ve tried everything and nothing has worked
They did not remove it, I still have it on my iPhone 17 Pro Max on iOS 26.
You see ? I see your Photos Tab right there next to background and links . That’s what I am talking about how come I don’t have that tab on my brand new iPhone 16e. Makes no sense I need help
I have same phone and iOS 26, but no photos tab.
The photos I’m sending myself are not even shown in a photos tab.
17 Pro here and mine is missing as well. However I have two coworkers, one also on Pro 17, and the other in Pro 16 both running iOS 26 and they both have the photos tab.
Could you please tell me what toggles you’re talking about?
