How do I fix 2-inch mark on MacBook Air screen?

I bought this MacBook Air in April of last year I sporadically use it just to pay bills occasionally watch something on it and maybe do some work. I noticed this 2 inch mark on the screen that has never been dropped. It’s been in a drawer for about a couple weeks now never moved not sure if this is a scratch or crack if I wanted it fixed how long would the turnaround be? Is it even worth fixing something like this?

Apple charges around $600 to replace a damaged display panel (they replace the whole thing, no other options). If you have AppleCare+ coverage, it's only $99.

Looks like a scratch to me, otherwise you would likely see a crack in the panel below the glass as well. Only a physical examination can reveal the truth.

It is up to you whether the issue warrants a repair. Just make sure you make a final decision while you still have AC+ coverage in order to keep the repair cost to $99US.
