Connecting an ssd to an iPhone
I am trying to connect an iPhone 11 (lightning port) to a 2Tb Sandisk ssd via the Camera adapter Usb 3. The camera adapter is plugged into the drive and an Apple 15-20W power supply for charging the phone.
While trying it in the Apple Store the disk successfully connected to the phone and I transferred files for testing. I was able to read these files from an iPad.
At home I transferred other files to the disk from the same phone. The phone then asked to update the firmware of the Camera adapter.
After the update the phone displayed an error message saying that the ssd was drawing too much power.
After restarting the phone the ssd connected without any issue and I was able to transfer more files. I checked the files from another device.
Now each time that I try to use the ssd with my iPhone it displays the error message for power overdraft for the ssd.
This error message doesn’t stay on screen. It disappears after 2-6seconds on screen and re appears after 5 seconds.
Please help me find the issue.
