I have the same problem on iOS26.2. None of the suggestions here worked for me. Toggling the settings in Search, toggling the beta on off. Or reset.

Fixed! Spotlight Search

After days of frustration (tried restarts, toggling settings, language change, even full erase & restore – nothing worked), I finally fixed the Spotlight bug where it only finds apps but nothing else (no deep settings, contacts, messages, photos, etc.).

The combo that actually worked:

1.  Changed iPhone Language to English (US) (Settings > General > Language & Region > iPhone Language).

2.  Went to Settings > Siri & Search.

3.  Turned OFF every single option at the top (Suggest Apps Before Searching, Allow Notifications, Show in App Library, Show When Sharing, Show Listening Suggestions).

4.  Then, for every individual app in the list below, turned OFF all options (Show App in Search, Show Content in Search, etc.).

5.  Restarted the phone.

6.  Spotlight immediately started showing deep results again (settings shortcuts, etc.).

7.  Turned all the individual app search options back ON (while still on US English).

8.  Restarted again and left it on Wi-Fi for a bit – everything still working perfectly.

9.  Finally switched language back to English (UK) – restarted – and it’s still 100% fixed.

This seems to fully force-rebuild the corrupted content index that gets stuck on some devices.

Tried every solution listed here and some more that I found from other threads, but it fixed the problem only for a few hours. The issue came back always. This is such a deal breaker for me; perhaps it is time to sell this overpriced junk and switch to a os that has basic features working.

Try changing the region again. See it the search works. If it does, force restart and just leave it be for as long as you can. Then switch back to your normal region.

This is the 26 in the iPad but may be still relevant. I needed to search my files with periods in the name and pinpointing complete name. It returned blank. Not sure if this is related to OP issue

but

definitely try just doing a forced turn off and back on. It fixed mine and should be tried before drastic resetting the settings.

I don’t think of this often enough because the update restarts the machine but apparently a lot of things happen in the restart of the update and after things settle restart corrects a lot.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before you start a standard iOS update, it's best to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, please go ahead with the restoration from the backup.

Hello there!

I having the same problem since I upgraded my phone to iP17PM. Search in Settings (and other places dosen't work) like a normal search in Settings like I open Settings and then search for Safari shows no results. Is this some kind of superbug or not? I played with some settings in search settings, restart the phone etc. but nothing works. On my wife's iPad search work like magic..
