Ipad Battery Reading Error/Shutoff

I’ve been using my iPad Pro (11-inch) (3rd generation) for 5ish years now. I’ve had one issue, and that is sometimes needing to bend my cords to make them actually charge my iPad. I never have been able to figure out on my own if it’s the iPad or the cords. I as well used to really always somehow manage to drain my iPad’s battery. People around me knew me for my iPad always being low/dying. Well, eventually something decides to happen. Since about 24 hours ago my iPad will get to 10%, and if it drops below to 9% it will shutoff completely but not die. Not only that, but it’s draining really fast.. way too fast. The iPad hasn’t died since I’ve had this issue. If I decide to restart at 10% it will always somehow become 40% then if it drops below 40% it will shutoff/crash. If I was to be at 10% and not have it on the charger I could go to type in the password and it would shutoff (About 4-5 seconds or less in some cases) What do I do? My coverage is expired. I haven’t gone to an Apple Store since I got the iPad. Additionally, there has always been yellowish discoloration in the bottom right and left corners of the screen. I’m not able to confirm if this is battery swelling or long time possible damage from use. My iPad OS is iPadOS 17.2. I’m behind and I kind of procrastinated updating it but now I’m here I’m surely too worried to get stuck in a boot loop. Can I get any helpful advice? What could Apple even do for me?

As described, your iPad likely has multiple hardware faults and/or a battery that is reaching the end of its usable life.

You would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to hands-on test and assess your iPad. If faults requiring repair are identified, you will be in the best possible place to explore your available options:

For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange the iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for repair. Unless you have benefit of an active AppleCare plan, an out-of-warranty repair while expensive will be somewhat less than the cost of a replacement iPad.

As for out-of-warranty repair costs, Apple offers a fixed-price price repair. You can verify eligibility and cost for your region/country here:

iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support

If you have an active AppleCare+ plan, the cost of repair is reduced to a small excess/deductible fee.
