App Icons in Notifications Do Not Match Tinted Home Screen Icons in iOS 26

After updating to iOS 26, I observed that app icons in notifications, such as those in the Notification Center and Lock Screen banners, do not follow the “Tinted” style applied to my home screen icons. In previous iOS versions, enabling Dark Mode synchronized the icon style across both the home screen and notifications. However, in iOS 26, notification icons appear tied only to the Light or Dark Mode setting (Settings > Display & Brightness) and ignore the custom tint set via Home Screen > Edit > Customize. This seems like a tiny detail the development team may have missed. Is this an intentional design change, or is there a method to make notification icons match the tinted style of the home screen? Any insights or workarounds would be appreciated.

It would be beneficial if Apple could add an option in iOS 26 to allow notification icons to reflect the “Tinted” customization applied to the home screen. This would create a more consistent visual experience across the system, similar to how Light and Dark Mode syncing functioned in earlier iOS versions. Alternatively, a toggle in Settings > Notifications to enable tint syncing for notification icons could be a valuable feature in a future update.

So far, iOS 26 is performing smoothly and beautifully, even on my older device, and I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the iPhone Air in my country. My appreciation goes to the team behind iOS 26 for their excellent and stunning work.

Thank you!

I have the same trouble, except only worse. How so? Well, the icons DO match those on the Home Screen, tinted, dark and color (orange) as well with only TWO icons not following suit; the “Tracking Notifications” and “Wallet” icons are the ONLY icons that maintain their original colors. Ugh. So yeah, this can’t be by design. So for my own mental state of mind, I stick to plain default, dark mode and all is well. For now, but I do hope they fix this bug. I suppose you could say, it’s bugging me. Cheers!
