Mac mini M4 pro
I leave the Mac until screen saver comes up. Then I stop the screen saver and the dock is hidden.
It's not only hidden but refusing to come up properly. Then I have to go to System settings->Desktop & Dock to switch on&off "Automatically hide and show the Dock".
This keeps happening and only started after the OS upgrade.

Have seen this issue before and they too were using macOS 26.0 with a Mac Mini
They may have said that using the Terminal command may have fixed the issue
killall Dock
Personally, using both a M2 and M4 Mac Mini with Tahoe 26.0
Have yet to experience this Dock issue
If all else fails
Holding the Option key
Finder >> Go >> Library >> Preferences
Find the .plist file >> com.apple.dock.plist <<
Move it to a place for safe keeping as you may or may not to put it back
Drag to com.apple.dock.plist out of its location
Restart the computer and then Test of the Dock issue persists or not
In theory the restart should create a new .plist file for the Dock
If no issues , it may indicate the original files became corrupted
So we wait for 26.1 to fix some annoying glitches but overall 26 is very stable for me. Typical software development. There is no such thing as bug free software anywhere in the world.
Trashing the .plist preferences was apparently a temporary fix. Dock hiding on its own is back again.

Same problem for me. I found that toggling the automatic hiding function in Settings/Desktop & Dock on and off is a temporary fix, but in a few hours the bug is back.
This is annoying. I do not want dock to be hidden and the issue comes on 4-5 times each day after screensaver or something I believe. I am using a Mac mini M1 with 16GB/512GB
AND there's no com.apple.dock anything in my preferences. Mac Mini M2.
I find it happens when I open the Mac with screensaver on, the dock is hidden. Not a big problem just quite annoying.
having the same issue. have deleted the plist and restarted, the issue persists. they released the first update today, 26.0.1, the issue persists. have already filed a bug report.
Same here. I would have thought they fixed this problem with 26.0.1 but they didn't. Have difficult is to replicate it.....c'mon Apple, basic thing
The dock problem is still happening since the update 26.0.1. This update obviously didn't fix the bug!
same issue here after upgrading to tahoe 26.0.1 this past weekend. the toggle shows it's off but when i cycle between off/on it still auto hides the dock.
Exactly same problem for me on my Mac Studio M2 and Tahoe 26.0.1
This helps... actually, until the mac (MacBook Pro M3 Max in my case, running Tahoe) goes into standy/screen saver again. Dock keeps hiding afterwards, again.
Since the update to Tahoe OS 26.1, the problem of dock hiding has not happened. I wonder if this is fixed or just coincidence? Any comments?
