Camera won't focus on tap in Photo mode with 1x lens after the iOS 26 update on iPhone 13 Pro Max

i wish that will solve some problem or you have hardware problem like in camera

I’m on iOS 26.1, which I installed today, and the issue still isn’t solved.

I restored my iPhone to factory settings today, but it didn’t fix the camera problem…

Ugh….. I didn’t know the update came out. This is my only major issue with this. It’s like we had something great and then they took it away!

It's not an iOS 26/26.1/26.2 issue. It works just fine on both of our iPhone's on iOS 26.2 using the 1x camera.

It’s not a hardware problem, since for example, in Cinematic mode at 1x it works. Also, I have a friend with the same iPhone as mine and he has the same issue, and from what I can see, the thread creator has it too, so it’s definitely not a hardware problem. And of course, it was working fine before installing iOS 26.

Please Jeff, it seems like you haven’t read the whole forum thread, honestly. This is not a hardware issue, and there’s evidence of that. It worked perfectly on iOS 18, but not on iOS 26. We need Apple to fix this bug, which in my opinion is quite critical, since it severely affects one of the iPhone’s main features, the camera. Thanks.

3. You said "no, I did not try a factory reset. Was hoping for iOS26.1 to fix it. I will wait a little bit longer" If you won't try standard fixes, theres no point in us trying to help you.
