Facing Landscape mode issues in Mail on iOS 26

To read an email with smallish print, prior to upgrading to 26, I rotate my phone and have full screen of the mail in landscape mode. On 26, instead of full screen I get split screen with a folder list on the left and cannot read the mail. Annoyingly, if when in landscape mode I tap the button to eg forward the mail, I get a full screen display of the reply + forwarding options.

This did not happen on IOS18!!!!!!

Can anyone advise if there’s a setting I need to change to accommodate this ?

They fixed it in 26.2 which you have to upload I think that just became possible yesterday: You have to hit the double arrows that are in the circle to go full screen

It’s just one more example of this new update, not paying attention to what people who actually use their phones to work for a living need- an apple being hyper focused on teenyboppers

I would love to see a picture of what you’re talking about. I have upgraded to the latest version 26.2 and there are no sizing buttons in the upper left side of my email messages.

It works but is not a permanent setting fix. If you close out the email window and then open email again, you have to do it again.

In 26.2 turn mail to landscap mode. Initially shows message on right and mail listing in column on left. In message tap screen size arrows (top left corner of message) and gives full screen message. Seems to then stay as default. Cheers.

I discovered this as well. It’s a major step backward and needs to be remedied as I believe it’s a complete oversight. Time to go back to outlook until this issue is resolved.
