I’ve had the iPhone 17 pro since yesterday, and there have been several times I’ve had to tap buttons in multiple apps and on the Home Screen and keyboard to get the phone to respond. There also seems to be lag when I’m scrolling. Has anyone else had this issue? I have a good quality glass screen protector and this feels like an issue with the software or phone itself.

Hi. You probably have found a fix. I hope. If not, you've got a lot more patience than what I have.
I found that my iPhone 17 pro is having the same lack of touch screen response. I tried restarting the phone to no avail. Removed the screen protector...same lack of screen responsiveness. It was over most of the screen not just along the edges.
I went into Settings, Accessibility, Touch, Touch Accomodations and turned everything off. I even restarted the phone again. And it worked!
The screen is responding and I my thumbs are not getting as big of a workout and my frustration is gone.
Literally have had the new phone for two hours ( iPhone 17 Pro) and I want to take it back to the store tomorrow. I can’t even type on it so I’m using voice to text because this is so painful. What a horrible release. I’ve tried the accessibility trick mentioned above, but no luck.
Having the same issue. Was told to try new screen protector…. Slow, glitchy, constantly having the wrong letter typed. Sometimes pressing something 3 times for it to actually wor
Same with mine, photos very glitchy, I have 200GB free and it takes a minute to view a recorded video and the messaging app is very annoying and touch screen is very problematic, apps keep freezing pretty much the worst iPhone initial experience I've had since iPhone 1 I get a new one every other year.

Same here got the 17 pro max and it’s slow to respond on screen touch , I thought it was screen protector and removed it , still same. When I type my passcode to unlock the phone it never goes through and have to retype , or when typing texts sometimes doesn’t press letters . So annoying giving it’s a new phone , hopefully it’s just a software and not the actual phone idk but I’m very upset as this phone doesn’t feel well functioning and it’s very expensive
I’m having the same problem. Especially with the phone app. When a call comes in I can touch the small black bar at the top of the screen to bring up the phone controls. Sometimes this works sometimes it doesn’t. Furthermore, if I can get to the phone controls and press the green button to accept the call it frequently does not work. I’m frantically pressing and banging on the green button desperately trying to pick up an important call and can’t do it!!
I got iPhone 17 pro max couple of weeks back, and facing same issue… touch is not responsive many time, WhatsApp text typing free form text box takes a while to load, message typing delays, had to click on multiple times to make it work , scroll hands at times . Bit annoying!
I have the same issue. I also have a lag on everything I do. Photo app has the most issues. Photos aren’t showing up. Can’t take photos.

Same issue with 17 pro. Can’t find the touch spot on apple wallet, google calendar, plus others. Apple support says I should do update again. How many times? It does not work!
