"How do I prevent MacBook Pro from turning on when lid is opened?: Hi guys, Is there a way to lock the power button/Touch ID when I shut down the laptop so that it does not turn on automatically when I open the laptop?"

Original Title: Locking the Touch ID Button

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.6

I am unclear if this is a 16" intel mac or a 16" M-series mac?

Even with no power on with the lid open— you touch any key it will boot up.

If this is in regards to cleaning the keyboard I simply Lock the screen < Control Command Q >

Any inadvertent key registers are a non-issue and will not affect or unlock he screen until you enter the correct psswd or use the TouchID to continue.

FYI, even touching the Trackpad may power on the laptop.
