How do I permanently remove Recently Saved bookmarks from the Safari sidebar in MacOS Tahoe?

The only way to remove is to delete each of the bookmarks. What I did was to make a desktop folder and moved those recents bookmarks to that folder then deleted them from the side bar. I hope a future OS release will address this issue.

I figured out an easy workaround (until Apple fixes it):

1. Open Safari.
2. Click Edit Bookmarks in the top menu.
3. Click New Folder button in the top right corner of the window.
4. Create a folder called "My Bookmarks" which will appear in the left column of the Edit Bookmarks window.
5. Drag all of your existing bookmark folders into your new "My Bookmarks" folder (and sort as you like).
6. Go to the Bookmarks sidebar and click on your new "My Bookmarks" folder.

You can click the back "<" arrow at the top of the bookmarks sidebar to go back to seeing those two gigantic "Recently Saved" bookmark icons above three sections: "Favorites", "Tab Group Favorites" and your new "My Bookmarks" folder.

It works!

Not only as this visually disturbing but basically it doesn’t keep things private no matter what

I clear my history a couple of times a day this does not get removed

Not a good solution since I still want to keep my Reading List.

I just don't want to see the huge, ugly thumbnails up there. "Recently Saved", why on earth would I want to keep looking at something I recently saved? I just saved it to NOT have to look at it.

Apple is losing it, forcing design bloat and senselessness on its users.

Tahoe sure is a fine mess.

It's worse than gift surprises; what if you are stopped at customs entering the US and the list of items you never actuall. bookmarked is now available for search by any ICE doofus? What if you look for a nice bar for a Friday evening get-together, then you are in an accident that is other driver's fault, but your new bookmark is searched at legal discovery and used to draw inference you were at fault because you must have been intox'ed. No apple or other dweeb has the competence to decide what I OR ANYONE ELSE wants to save in a bookmark or incriminating evidence list.

I moved all my recent bookmarks to a folder on my desktop then deleted those in the side bar. Good for now until I save another bookmark and the issue comes back.

And that comes after how many about not being able to stop Safari from auto-completing URLs from history, even after you delete all history?
