Iphone 12 Pro Bricked after iOS update

My phone has been working fine since about 5-6 years now. Last night it did a software update to IOS 26 and it got bricked immediately after- it then asked me to connect it to my computer and I tried updates and recoveries various times, each giving me a 4013 error or a -18 error. I was on the phone with apple support for an hour and a half and they walked me through all the steps I had already done with no help at all. My phone is now useless and apple won't do anything about it besides ask me to get a new iphone.

I have an iphone 12 Pro Max and it did the same thing. Same error and a perfectly good working phone bricked by this update. In my opinion, and even though my phone isn't under applecare, if Apple supports a IOS and it bricks a perfectly good working phone, they should be repsonsible to allow me to downgrade it (I can't) or fix the obvious SW bug in the new IOS. Clearly this is a bug and not some sort of HW problem.
