Missing 'Share' button for email printing after update on iPhone

After update, I no longer have the option to share. ie the square with the arrow on top.

When I press the 3 dots on the top extreme right, I get two options, categorise sender, and customise toolbar.

Customise toolbar doesn’t give share button as an option.

How can I get back to just a share button in the toolbar, that gives PRINT as an option?

The button is not on the toolbar. You have to scroll down to the very bottom of the email to see the "Arrow" icon (bottom left). Tapping it reveals the Print functionality as the screenshot I posted shows.

After updating to iOS 26, the share button is gone when trying to print from
portrait mode. However, you CAN print, but ONLY if you set your iPhone into landscape mode. Once you do that, when you press the reply arrow button, the print icon appears as a choice. There is no square with an arrow for sharing anywhere. Craziest “improvement” I’ve ever seen, especially since I like to keep my screen locked in portrait mode. How inconvenient. I imagine it’s the same for an iPad.

Scroll to the bottom of the email message that you wish to print. At the bottom-right corner of the Mail window you will see a reply button; tap to expose the associated Action Menu.

Scroll through the available actions, then select Print.

This technique works in both Landscape and Portrait screen orientation.

Obviously I met all your conditions above as I’ve never had a problem before over many years and many updates.

If your iPad is not operating as expected, try a forced-restart - as this will often clear an isolated or post-update software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

If the problem persists after performing the restart, it may be necessary to reset your iPad settings. While this reset will not cause any loss of data, as a precaution, it is always wise to ensure that you have a current iCloud or iTunes backup before performing the reset:

When you are happy to proceed, you can perform the reset from iPad settings:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset All Settings

If the problem still doesn’t clear, the next step is to reset the iPad to factory settings:

Otherwise, you would be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page. Alternatively you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

Now this is very weird. I have just gone back to the mail option after reloading it from the App Store, and lo and behold, the icon has appeared. Hmm, you really have to use your own initiative to sort Apple issues, I have found!

earlier note - I agree, there is NO option, no icons at the bottom of any emails, I am really annoyed with Apple making this useless change

I have this same issue on my iPad following update to ios 26.0.1. It seems this issue has not been resolved x one person says this thing works, another says it doesn’t and that’s the end of the support. The original user has mentioned his problems and I have the same. There is no share button on the toolbar, nor is there a possibility to put a share or print button on the toolbar. There is also nothing that appears on pressing the reply, reply all or forward. The only way I can print this to access the menu bar where I can select print. Not good. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I eventually found a Print option and selected it and the result was unformatted and useless. I’m running this latest version on an iPad mini and I now can’t print. I tried past and copy to notes and that didn’t work either. This needs fixing urgently.

Available page formatting will be determined by the configured AirPrint printer. When you select Print, you should see the Print page - at the top of which you should see the currently selected printer. If you don't see the printer listed, tap the field - and select your printer from the available AirPrint printers.

Obviously your printer must support AirPrint, be turned-on - and properly configured before it can be detected.
